CompliancePlus 2.0 Safety Management Software Released

Alexandria, Va., Jan. 13, 1999-The Subcontractors Education Trust (SET) released the 2.0 version of its best-selling CompliancePlus Safety Software. The updated software, available on CD-ROM, centralizes safety management for construction subcontractors into one menu-guided system.

New features permit the software user to quickly locate information about any aspect of the company's safety program, to print out company and jobsite safety binders, and to access safety documents recommended by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. As with the original version, CompliancePlus 2.0 integrates safety recordkeeping and training, and development of a written safety program.

"CompliancePlus 2.0 was designed to meet two primary goals: compliance and convenience," said SET Executive Director Steve Swafford. "Complex safety regulations can make the job of managing safety very time-consuming. CompliancePlus 2.0 eases the burden and is a vehicle for achieving OSHA compliance."

The software organizes safety management through a menu system, including "Develop Your Safety Program," "Safety Topics," "Training," "Recordkeeping" and "Reference" menus.

The "Develop Your Safety Program" menu consolidates development of a written safety program into one simple process.

The "Safety Topics" menu allows users to choose between 18 different topics, such as Vehicle Safety, Respiratory Protection, Personal Protective Equipment, Fall Protection, Hazard Communication, Scaffold Safety, etc. "Recordkeeping," "Training" and "Reference" menus for each topic can be used to plan and track the company's safety efforts. Safety talks, employee-training activities and tests on OSHA-required topics also are included.

In addition, CompliancePlus 2.0 includes an alarm system that notifies users when the program is loaded of records which require attention.
